A panel discussion – 20th February 2024, 4-6 pm (CST) at ARTS 14

Working towards inclusivity in chemistry (WIC) – USASK is hosting a hybrid event: “Transitioning from academics to professional life” on Tuesday, 20th February 2024, 4-6 pm (CST) at ARTS 146. We have an amazing panel of experts working in diverse areas of science to share their knowledge and experiences. Our panelists work in academia, intellectual property law, and industry and are listed below. The panelists will briefly discuss their career paths before opening it up to a Q&A discussion. This will be a good opportunity for the students looking for professional jobs after graduation and talking to experts in the field.   

• Poonam Tauh –  Partner, Patent Agent at MBM Intellectual Property Law (joining remotely).
• Pankaj Bhowmik – Senior research officer, National Research Council
•  Hillary Mehlhorn – Operations Technologist, Fedoruk Centre (Former grad student in chemistry and WIC president)
• Shaoming Huang – Assistant breeder, Limagrain Cereal Seeds
• Stephen Foley – Associate Professor, University of Saskatchewan
