USASK-WiC is excited to join the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the periodic system of the chemical elements or the periodic table as it is recognized worldwide. This key scientific achievement promoted the development of many areas of science not only chemistry but physics and biology. For this reason, in 2017, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT2019) and has encouraged people and organizations to join this celebration such as IUPAC
We have invited Dr. Bradley (from the Dept. of Physics & Engineering Physics), Dr. Gravel and Dr. Steer (from the Dept. of Chemistry) to talk to the public about the importance of this iconic image in our event called:

We encourage all students, post-docs, faculty, staff, and other members of our university community from diverse backgrounds to attend this event in which three short 15-20 min presentations will be given for scientific and non-scientific audience. In addition, USask-WiC members will announce the second activity we are preparing to share this excitement around campus!
